Features in alpha rev.271

posted by Martin Cohen in Features | June 27th, 2006 |

Intype is heavily inspired by TextMate. That means, that every good feature which is in TextMate will probably be implemented in Intype. This is list of main features which Intype already has in it’s alpha rev.271.

  • Snippets - Similar to TextMate snippets, but with full LUA support.
  • Extension bundles - Similar to TextMate bundles
  • Commands/Scripting support - Active scripting with LUA.
  • Advanced text editor - Uses Scintilla edit control with reimplemented and lightened parts (new auto-indent, paste history, etc.)
  • Unicode support - auto-detection including UTF-8 without BOM

And what it lacks now (ToDo):

  • Testing, testing and more testing
  • New parser - scopes support
  • UTF-8 support in LUA

And a photo for mom and dad, say `print(’cheese’)`:

What is Intype?

Intype is a powerful and intuitive code editor for Windows with lightning fast response.

It is easily extensible and customizable, thanks in part to its support for scripting and native plug-ins. It makes development in any programming or scripting language quick and easy.

Where can I get it?

Intype is still in development, but the current alpha release is available for download here.
