Thank you so much Intype team!

  • 12 Blomqvist | 09.08.2007 at 11:50 pm

It would be much appreciated if Intype, like Firefox, would remember the last opened “tabs”. After that, I’m just missing the small “close tab”-button.

You’ve done a very good job so far! :)

  • 13 Nikolay Kolev | 10.08.2007 at 2:00 am

    Finally! Thank you, guys!

  • 14 JonT | 10.08.2007 at 2:47 am

Thanks, now I have almost everything i need in a text editor.

  • 15 Shaun Walker | 10.08.2007 at 3:26 am

    Great!

    thx~~:D

  • 17 Shaun Walker | 10.08.2007 at 3:42 am

Just one question, whats the duplicate Ctrl+D ?

  • 18 Thomas Bell | 10.08.2007 at 4:12 am

Duplicate line has yet to be plugged back in it should appear in the next release according to the todo. ToDo List

  • 19 Arik | 10.08.2007 at 5:20 am

Awwww…. the little editor that could. Thing is speedy as hell though and a very small footprint. Good work Martin and gang.

  • 20 Arik | 10.08.2007 at 8:30 am

Here is what I want to see for the next release.

    * Project Management
    * Bundle Editor
    * Theme Editor

  • 21 RobyOnRails | 10.08.2007 at 10:43 am

For my opinion, the “must” is the automatic-update system. We (users) don’t want to download everytime every release, we want all automatically.

  • 22 Demetrios Kyriakis | 10.08.2007 at 11:31 am

Fantastic work - thank you. I can’t wait to buy a version for me and the entire team.

  • 23 chris | 11.08.2007 at 4:37 am

its great, i love it..thanks so much for a great editor :D

  • 24 Anonymous coward | 11.08.2007 at 2:00 pm

Cool! But still I cannot write a code by Asian languages, such as Korean, Japanese, Chinese, etc. And your To-do list has not a plan for supporting it. Could you have a plan to do it?

  • 25 Nikolay Kolev | 11.08.2007 at 5:08 pm

I don’t know exactly is meant by “project manager”, but I would like to see something like “Windows Explorer” type of panel, where I can open files without having to explicitly add files to some project per se. This is in addition to right click menu on the tabs having “Save”, “Close”, “Close All”, and “Close All But This” is all I basically need to be happy even if you don’t add a single feature in an year!

I also would be nice to be able to rearrange tabs by drag’n'drop.

  • 26 Brad | 12.08.2007 at 1:27 am

    Martin & Team:

I have to hand it to you. Though I tend to upset a bit over some of the decisions you guys make, you are producing an absolutely beautiful application. I mean this both aesthetically and functionally.

I only hope that now that you have finished refactoring the core everything will go much smoother and you will be able to release future versions on date.

Keep up the hard work and remember to keep your future clientell in mind :)

P.S. Regarding the last message of mine you replied to. I had not intended to upset you, only to motivate. Cheers!

  • 27 Arik | 12.08.2007 at 9:13 pm

    Nikolay Kolev:

Yeah, thats what the project manager is. It basically isolates a single folder with your project files inside of it.

  • 28 Noel Hurtley | 13.08.2007 at 10:54 am

A great release. Intype is really shaping up to be a killer app.

  • 29 kpelley | 13.08.2007 at 3:49 pm

W00t Thanks guys, keep up the great work

  • 30 Nikolay Kolev | 13.08.2007 at 5:30 pm

Arik: You mean, you specify a root folder, but then you can see all files underneath, including the ones in all child folders?

What I am afraid of is to force users manually add files to a project and in general - the requirement of a project file.

  • 31 Nick | 14.08.2007 at 8:28 am

    Congratulations guys.

Clearly the refactoring is paying off. The first thing I noticed is that redraw on the syntax highlighting is much faster than the previous release. Onwards and upwards!

  • 32 Solice | 17.08.2007 at 2:24 pm

    Congrats for the release,

but it looks like the weekly release won’t be there :( (despite of the mighty refactoring), so we will have to wait weeks (or months) again for new alpha builds :(.

  • 33 Michel | 20.08.2007 at 7:38 pm

Thanks for this release, thanks for Tabs!

But I also ask for a Project Manager.

  • 34 Narga | 25.08.2007 at 2:10 pm

I try intype in 4 days, that is good editor for me, I’m thinking change my defautl code editor to intype but the big problem of it is not support unicode as well.
I hope intype in next version will be support unicode encoding and others

  • 35 Ivan Čentéš | 25.08.2007 at 9:16 pm

Narga, could you please specify your problem with unicode? Intype does support unicode, in fact, it is one of its basic features.

  • 36 Nikolay Kolev | 25.08.2007 at 10:01 pm

Release cycles slowed down again. So much for the (bi-)weekly rollouts!

  • 37 J.Rice | 26.08.2007 at 12:02 pm

@ Nicolay: exactly :). This is the biggest problem and not any of the features.

  • 38 Narga | 26.08.2007 at 3:52 pm

@Ivan Čentéš: Ah! It worked with unicode if I copy and past from another source, I’m using Unikey (www.unikey.org) to type vietnamese in unicode utf-8, when I typing all the vietnamese characters will be delete back such as I press the backspace button.
Now I guess the reason is hook function of Unikey, I try other Vietnamese IME but I still got the same results.
It’s works with Microsoft’s Vietnamse IME include in Windows and Microsoft’s Vietnamse IME is not using in Vietnam, only 1% Windows users in Vietnam known how to use Microsoft’s Vietnamse IME.

  • 39 Ivan Čentéš | 26.08.2007 at 6:17 pm

Narga: Ok, thanks for the report. I will pass it to Martin.

  • 40 Foprc | 27.08.2007 at 4:32 am

Soooo good. I love this text-editor

  • 41 mh | 27.08.2007 at 4:49 pm

There is also a problem with german letters in search, e.g. if you are searching for “blöd” it won’t find it in the text…

  • 42 Martin Cohen | 28.08.2007 at 3:34 pm

mh: Works for me, can you please report this to forums and give us more info about what file in what encoding are you editing, etc.?

  • 43 Jarrod | 29.08.2007 at 6:07 pm

Love it. Use it regularly. Thanks!!!!

  • 44 AndyM103 | 02.09.2007 at 6:59 pm

  • 45 Shaymaa | 09.09.2007 at 6:29 pm

hey guys! gr8 job really… especially the search utility!!!!! :D

Keep up the good work and thx

  • 47 Thomas Bell | 13.09.2007 at 10:07 pm

Duplicate Lines (now on Ctrl+Shift+D) is in the Unstable Release .573.
