Yeah! Can’t wait for the final product, the Alpha is already so cool! I look forward to fork my $25-45 to encourage and fund further development…….

  • 38 kib² | 08.01.2007 at 12:33 am

Same for me, I’ll pay for sure.

  • 39 A japanese | 08.01.2007 at 1:01 am

    Great great great!

so, please please please, support japanese….
    Other (natural)languages are ok?

I think programming community in Japan are not so small , there are a lot of textmate fun here. we are looking for windows version of textmate with nice design and UX. They will pay for this great product.

  • 40 Martin Cohen | 08.01.2007 at 1:54 am

We have strong Unicode core that could handle it, but I can’y really imagine how I will test it without knowledge of japanese :)

  • 41 matush | 08.01.2007 at 2:24 am

Martin you should add japanese language to your personal language skill to-do list :-))

  • 42 Martin Cohen | 08.01.2007 at 2:36 am

Ok, I’ll quit Intype for a year or two and start learning Japanese ;)

  • 43 Eric | 08.01.2007 at 2:40 am

Martin:A japanese can help you translate it. Its all about community ;)

  • 44 A japanese | 08.01.2007 at 4:14 am

oh–. I didn’t think I get reply from InType team… thank you very much.

well. うーん。I actually wondered if I can do any help,
but I am not c++ programmer. mainly java.
I don’t know I can do any actual commitment on codes.
but maybe I can do a tester, or japanese teacher !

plus, I am not good at english as you can see. so… I am hesitating.

  • 45 Martin Cohen | 08.01.2007 at 4:35 am

A japanese: Register in our forums, and set up a new topic, we can talk there.

  • 46 linnchord | 08.01.2007 at 4:40 am

    Great! Congratulations!

  • 49 Marc | 08.01.2007 at 6:12 am

Excellent work. Textmate is still better, but now Windows users can enjoy something out of it.

  • 50 Viking KARWUR | 08.01.2007 at 7:33 am

    cool… congratulations…

  • 51 Bennett | 08.01.2007 at 9:05 am

Thank you. I’ve been waiting a long time for this product.

  • 52 slowoff | 08.01.2007 at 12:59 pm

    how does one changes font?

  • 53 Branstrom | 08.01.2007 at 1:35 pm

slowoff: In the first alpha, the font was hardcoded into the app. The next release will be all about configuration, so you’ll probably be able to change the font then, and lots of other things as well.

  • 54 r!CCi°21 | 08.01.2007 at 5:09 pm

Perfect work! I like it ;) And one q: Will Intype have a panels like for expamle Opera broswer?

  • 55 Martin Cohen | 08.01.2007 at 8:56 pm

  • 59 semioticmonkey | 10.01.2007 at 10:48 am

    ohhhhhhhhh! it was about time!
i’m working right now with textmate on a Mac hoping for you to come out with this.
i’ll put immediately this puppy at work on a php+ajax web app and see what it can do (and if can replace my copy of textmate).
    congrats.

ps. icon on vista RC2 looks really bad. use a more standard icon please (48×48, 32×32 and so on)

  • 60 Colby | 11.01.2007 at 6:58 pm

Martin and Co., this is a really impressive first release! If it had only shipped with ‘undo’ I’d be using it 100% of the time already ;)

Keep up the great work, my TextMate envy will finally be satisfied!

  • 61 Mark | 12.01.2007 at 12:38 pm

I agree… the missing ‘undo’ command is the only thing preventing me to use Intype full time.

  • 62 Martin Cohen | 12.01.2007 at 7:39 pm

Undo/Redo feature is planned to be released in version 0.2.2 (current version is 0.2.0), so it’s very close to appear in Intype.

  • 63 Joerg | 12.01.2007 at 9:01 pm

Awesome work guys - keep it up and you’ll have at least one customer for sure ;)

  • 64 bartek | 13.01.2007 at 6:18 pm

  • 65 Jeferson | 14.01.2007 at 6:27 pm

Very nice, keep the great work. :D

Finally we will have a text editor like Textmate for Windows.

  • 66 Shark | 14.01.2007 at 6:46 pm

    Great work!
But I really hope it can support CJK language.

  • 67 Pipo Lambert | 14.01.2007 at 9:50 pm

    Hey Martin,

Is there any timeline for the next alpha release?

    Thanks,

    Pipo

  • 68 Corey | 18.01.2007 at 9:43 pm

A thing of beauty. Only recently was I introduced to the ’snippet’ and ‘reflection’ concept in code editing (watching a screencast of RoR in TextMate), and now I’m rabid to get a hold of an editor that can do it in Windows. I’ll definitely keep an eye on this one. Even at ~$45 it’s a no-brain must-buy.

  • 69 Martin Cohen | 19.01.2007 at 2:26 am

Pipo Lambert: Next alpha release will be hot-fix release (still 0.2.0) and will be published tomorrow (Friday). However, we are planning to release 0.2.1 (with undo/redo) next week. More info on release can be found at forums.

  • 70 Pipo Lambert | 20.01.2007 at 7:26 am

Cool! Thanks Martin - I’ll look in the forums from now on…

    P.L.
