    Download Intype 0.2.0.231

    What’s new?

    Warnings & Announces

    • WARNING! name key in themes is deprecated since this release, use title instead!
    • WARNING! Backup your changed files in bundles and themes folders and Uninstall previous release

    Features

    • Preferences dialog
      • Theme selection
      • Font (monospaced/fixed-width fonts only), font size and line height settings
    • Overriding ‘extension to language’ mapping: Language grammars are mapped to extensions (file_types property in itGrammar files). This tells Intype what language to set when file is opened or the extension of file has changed by saving document. But when user changes the language manually by selecting language from status-bar popup, Intype will rembember the preference for current file’s extension.
      • Similar overriding method will be used for encoding and indentation options.
      • The map file is stored in config/languages.itConfig
    • New editing commands:
      • Delete to Word Start: Ctrl+Backspace
      • Delete Word: Ctrl+Del
      • Delete to Line Start: Shift+Ctrl+Backspace
      • Backward delete alternate key: Shift+Backspace —or— Backspace
      • Cut (when selection) / Cut Line (when no selection): Shift+Del
    • Window size and position restored on restart
    • Recent Files
    • Added 15 Themes
    • Windows XP manifest file embedded

    Bug fixes

    • Caret is not changing position when changing case
    • Grammars are set properly on mixed case file extensions
    • Textile: Convert Tabs to Table is working now
    • No extra chars are displayed in doc when using uppercase/lowercase with no selection
    • Font is now restored on opening Intype
    • Clicking on line numbering margin does not disable main menu anymore.
    • Select All command does not scroll the window to the beggining/end of the document (however caret is moved)
    • Ctrl+Backspace does not insert “square character” anymore
    • Select word while dragging mouse fixed
    • Recent files menu does display items when launching without open file command line
    • Empty paired tag highlighting fixed in HTML
    • Extra empty column in menu removed
    • Backspace/Left-Arrow on beginning of second line won’t get to start of first line
    • DEL key does not delete indentation of next line
    • Caret is placed after the word when double-clicked
    • Recent file is remembered also when saving a new document now
    • Escaped quotes and empty strings fixed in PHP grammar
    • PHP grammar is listed in language status-bar popup menu

Thanks! I can’t wait to use this jewel in my daily work… Font and theme selection is a blessing. I hope the next release could begin to add some missing essential feautures, especially undo and tab/spaces conversion. Have a nice week-end!

Albertus: You are quite right. The 0.2.1 introduced next week will include undo and tab/space switch (and I hope that the conversion also).

This is another great news! As for the Tab/spaces feature what is really necessary for Python programmers is that each (new) tab get automatically converted to 4 spaces. I don’t need a conversion tool for already present tabs since in the Python files I work with indents are always made with 4 spaces (no tabs), according to the standard Python practice. Please notice that in Textmate the “Tab size” command is placed in the status bar and it’s really useful (not only for Python guys).

Albertus: Yep, the switch is in the status bar.

This is great news. I’ll start testing right away!

Sorry but I can’t help you with the bundle testing, as I don’t use the ones requested.

    This is fantastic, great progress!

Would it be possible for someone to covert the Twilight theme again, the one that worked with the previous version doesn’t seem to work properly, even when I change the “name” key to “title”?

Just open twilight theme in any text editor with regexp support and replace \sname\s with title

Added: or just download it :)

I’ve got an updated version of the Twighlight themes (along with a load of others) available here

I’ve also updated my Vim -> Intype theme converter to be fully compatible with the new version. See here for details.

I can’t find the SQL bundle in the download directory – am I being thick, or is it missing?

Cheers for the Twilight theme, guess i needed to update more than just the first “name” key.

Yeah, I made that mistake too, with my Vim to theme intype converter; fixed now though :-).
