Troubleshooting / Bugs: Small cosmetic bug and discussion about the editor core

I noticed that the line indicator in the status bar is slightly cut off when displaying a line number of more that a million ;)

I saw this when trying out if the editor component could handle big files – which it certainly can. I’m impressed! I copy/pasted a text block until I had a document of a bit more than a million lines. The copy/paste didn’t slow down at all when the document grew. Navigation in a big document also seem instantaneous. I then saved the file – took a few seconds and created a document of about 100 Mb. Loading the document took longer, about 40 seconds. I guess the entire document is loaded into memory. My most efficient editor (Epsilon) loads the document in about 5 seconds, but is much slower when pasting text at the end of a document with more than 100000 lines.

Now, maybe you don’t work with documents that large very often, but it is good to see that the editor core is efficient.
