Good news for you! Hope you're going to be successful! Can't wait for the next release.
Regarding release and milestones dates.. I believe the best policy is "when it's done!".
    Can't wait though ^^

Guys the last release was on the 18th of March. Now we are on the 17th of May. In 2 month we didn`t have a release so if you could just pack a unstable one it would be great.

Remember to repost this on the 17th of June (not forgetting to change “May” to “June” and the “2” to “3”)...

Oke i`m back now. Can we see the screenshots that you`ve promised over on the blog?. And when the 0.3 unstable is espected ? because i don`t like the E-texteditor thing and i hate having 7-8 windows of intype + windows explorer :).

Cheers and hope to see from you very very soon.
PS: We love your work that`s why we always have questions ...

Yeah, the screenshots will be available soon. I got to get some things done to make it look nice :) We made a big step forward, but it takes two or three weeks to know the release date estimation. Everything inside is brand new and got to be tuned a little. I estimate that by the end of the week I’ll finish the internal preview version, and publish some screenshots for ya, here on the forums.

Currently I’m finishing multi selections, and split-view back-end.

It’s been a long long time since your last post/comment.
We’re all waiting the 0.3.x unstable release… Glad to hear that it will be available soon but 2-3 weeks is not as soon as I expected :(

Well, in 2 to 3 weeks he can tell us the estimated release date, so it doesn't mean it will be released in 2-3 weeks :p With every day passing it will be harder for you guys to catch up to e, but I just hope you can eventually do it :) e is being developped by 1 man at an insane rate atm, new releases are popping every week and it's pretty great :) Anyways, let's just hope Intype will eventually come out on top, though I'm kind of pessimistic at this point.

I am also in agreement with .Dani.

The development rate of intype is excruciatingly slow. I want intype to succeed but, I am pretty pessimistic at this point.
6 months, 4 releases, 1 patch, and not much improvement between the first and last doesn't look good.

thats why there taking a big leap!
the fact that we have 4 releases does not mean that the development is slow.

    E is not as good

I don't use E at all. But if it is good or not is a matter of your opinion. Right now though as of usefulness
E is infinitely better than Intype.

If you compare the features vs bug fixes vs refactoring released with each of the 4 versions to other
software products over the same timespan I think you would find that development is indeed slow.
But I am sure from your vast experience base that you know better, young one.

I am not trying to rant here or anything and I hope the "big leap" is worth the wait. How long do you
think this product will last if they are not getting any revenue from it since they are unable to release
a product that is useful? You can only live at mom and dads house for so long.

My pessimism is built on the lack of communication they have about the progress they are making
towards a useful product. Maybe they should have just waited until the "big leap" to go public at all.

    bug?

Ctrl-D duplicate lines yield a copy of the line at the end of same line when used at last line of the file and there is no proceeding crlf (v.0.2.1.328)

    repro:
    open intype
    write text (one line only)
    press ctrl-d

    you have a point…

“young one.” was out of line. the fact that I’m younger does not mean you’re smarter, or that I should agree with everything someone more older or experienced have to say.

I disagree that it was out of line. Just the fact that you pointed out that I said it kind of makes me laugh about it. Anyways, no reason to get defensive. Just take it as a little jibbing from someone who's a little older. Even I get it from my seniors and so will you.

And yes, just because someone is older and/or more experienced doesn't mean they are smarter or you automatically have to agree with them, but you should at least think about what they said before you take your stance. Just remember, there is always someone smarter. I have found that its always more prudent to assume everyone is until they prove that they are not.

1.) Bugs should be placed in the appropriate sub-forum category.

2.) The Intype developers are developers. They do not live at their parents’ (as far as I’m aware) and have other full time jobs.

3.) The new Intype sounds like almost a complete rewrite. It may not appear as though it’s vastly different, but I would hope the differences are to help with future-proofing of certain capabilities in the Intype roadmap.

Over-exaggerated opinions aside, all we can do is wait and see.
