I’m sure this is what it is meant to do rather than a bug and I can definitely see why you might want it but it really interrupts my workflow since a lot of the time I use delete line to get rid of blank lines and then I’ll paste in what I think is code but is actually the blank line I just got rid of. Having a config option or some way of disabling this behaviour would really make things just that little bit easier.
Or maybe this would be better left until the custom keyboard mappings are available and by just being able to re-assign shift-del to delete line rather than copy to clipboard and delete line.
Does that make sense ?
Yendor: It is a feature, see here. Clearly what Ben sees as highly useful, you do not. This is always the way with any feature, some love it, some hate it. I guess you’ll have to wait eagerly for the custom keyboard mappings :-)
In the meantime, if the line is completely blank you could just press del or backspace to remove the line, or if it’s full of whitespace press ctrl+shift+l to select the line and backspace/delete twice. Admittedly it’s a little more work for your fingers, but it might help until the custom keyboard mappings are implemented.
Another idea might be to select the line and just paste over it, but I’m sure I’m preaching to the converted.
Yeah I thought that might be the case but didn’t see that thread so thought I’d post just in case I was the only one having that problem.
Easier just to ctrl-shift-v 1 I think but the alternatives are welcome :)
You are indeed right about preaching to the converted, I’ve been using intype as my main editor since the fist unstable build (which was pretty damn stable anyway) and it just keeps getting better and better. There’s only a couple of things (like goto line) that I really miss day to day but I know they are on the todo list already so I know it’s just a matter of time :)
Yendor: You are not the only one. I’m waiting for the shortcut customizer too (and I’m developer of Intype). :) We have this in our ToDo.
As for the GoTo Line. Latest internal build already has it. So it will be included in upcoming unstable release…
