Theme support in Intype is fantastic, and I've acquired quite few of them (57). I think that it would be nice to be able to rapidly select and apply them. In the latest unstable release (0.3.1.734) it's necessary to open up the preferences panel, select a theme from the drop down list and then hit Apply. Would it be possible to have the themes selectable from a menu, perhaps immediately following Bundles? Or, when selecting from the drop down menu in the prefs panel, have them applied immediately without the need for hitting the Apply button? In the latter suggestion, a user would be able to use the up/down arrow keys to quickly cycle through themes, saving time and mouse clicks.
Why would you want to change themes that often? I have found that once I find the theme I like I usually stick with that theme. (Monokai, with a few tweaks, is my favorite)
You make a good point about theme changing frequency. I tend to change themes depending on the type of document I'm working on: plain text files generally get a white background theme (such as "none"), HTML & CSS get RDark, etc. I work on many different types of docs during a day (like everyone else), so I was just thinking that a quick theme change feature would be helpful - IMHO.
Maybe the better option would be to add themes to the current options here: Edit > Preferences > "Appearance Presets" tab > And then set up which themes you want used for which file types.
Is this not what you want? And then you won't even have to manually change the themes Intype would do it for you.
I think this would be the best option. Then you can set it and forget it.
