all We’ve to do is “trust” in type development team.. maybe christmas gift? :)
snowy: E: There are frequent releases and the forum is active. As a customer, I would feel comfortable purchasing a license (and in fact I did).
Problem is, most of the InType-Users are looking for a small, fast and smart editor (Thats why I’m staying with InType). E is a bloated piece of software with thousands of python-scripts, a 9 MB download, a cluttered interface and a slow behaviour. So… as an E-customer, I would like to have an editor like InType. ;-)
Is the project dead?
no no!! wait, its coming soon!!

Damn, I’m tired. Peace!
No, Intype is definitely not dead. As yarden said, its coming soon, but the soon here means as soon as possible.
Martin and Juraj are finishing some of their biggest share of tasks (there will be a screencast for some of them). After finishing and merging them together, there will be a couple of team builds for testing. And after that we will be able to release.
So please, be patient, guys are working hard on it, but there is still some stuff to be done.
If I give you money now, will you let me on on those mysterious “team builds”??? :D

No ;) Even I don’t have those yet :)
A little communication should not need more time. Like, “I bought a very special coffee for the project.”. I’m glad it’s still alive…
Nice to hear that you guys are alive and kicking.
I am now using Textmate but I feel I like Intype more especially with it’s word wrap feature. I would definitely be the first one to buy this product. Intype team, see me as $$$.
Interesting, the same situation is now with Intype, Sublime, and even E. Developers don’t communicate on forums for 1-3 month. Holidays, economical crisis, or something…

Maybe they’re getting together to release SubEtype. ;-) jijijijiji.
Seriously, though…it’s pretty sad. It’s so obvious that these editors have tons of supporters. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t think ignoring customers and potential customers makes any sense. The Intype, Sublime and E crews should take some business 101 courses. People expect communication and the great part is that it’s so easy to do. Five minutes a week is all it would take to update people on what is going on. Why not do it?
On a another note, we (our business) have decided to ditch Windows. With Textmate, CSSedit, Espresso (soon to be released from the same crew that developed CSSedit), Coda, Transmit and a whole bevy of other cool apps, we’re saying goodbye to Windows and hello to OSX.
Merry Christmas to all intype users and especially the developer team. :)
Merry christmas to all of you too. And happy new year of course :) Do you already have your resolutions thought out? We sure do – more releases :)
baael – As far as I know Martin is enjoying his holiday time offline. But I’m sure he will show himself as soon as the new year begins :)
I would like to wish the Intype team all the best in new year and, at the same time, I would like to beg for some news, please can we get any?
Petr-H
I’m already back in Prague, Juraj and Martin will be back from their holidays tomorrow. We will have a synchronisation session as soon as possible and then we can talk about some news. All three of us have our batteries filled up after the days off and can get to work with new enthusiasm.
Great to hear that, thank you very much, I hope to hear more news from the Intype team soon.
