I’ve started that topic, because I think blog comments grow too big :)
forgive me if it is improper.

baael – would it not be possible using IntypeCMD ? :-)
i don’t know, it would be great if Intype Team leave us some doors, or just apply here console via some container.
i got no time and skills for do something with IntypeCMD right now :P
baael: Well, the only thing you’ve added is the console. :) It’s very tough problem to actually host a standard console or to replicate it’s behavior on Windows. There are a few projects that are wrapping it and adding some features, however such feature is not even in scope of Intype project. There are, however, a few things planned for having such functionality but those will just enable you to enter a command-line command in a separate input box, launch it, and display the results in text area. I hope it will be enough for Rails administration needs, or compilation. Also you will be able to launch external programs directly from JS (and grabbing their output to our console), so making a few commands to control servers, clearing cache, or scaffolding files should be possible.
Is there a plan to host dynamically loaded windows inside Intype’s UI? I’m curious whether creating plugins that would allow, say, creation of class explorers or interactive command shells will be possible.

I dont need nothing more :) Intype is almost perfect for me ;)
btw. I think sending command and taking it output is not enough, what with prompts? what with creating some applications from templates, servers debugging… etc
baael & Ingwar: We will try to open the plug-in API to enable advanced users to create more stuff including the UIs, and also the plan is a major subject of change. However, implementation of a class explorer is not an easy task to do. Currently as we were updating the grammars part, I’ve designed a feature to allow externals (native) parsers to be used with Intype. That would allow a much closer touch with the grammars, including detailed ASTs to use in class explorers, etc.
great!
@martin: Actually I was thinking about dynamically loaded libraries containing their own GUI. Is there a plan for such thing? I understand that Intype going multiplatform significantly complicates this, but there’s a limit to what can one do with only scripting engine.
baael: my own intype vision

Hellow, i´m new user to intype.
I´m ready to translate intype. please contact to me. Thank´s
? I dont understand :P
mrlami: I really don’t see any point in having too much “clickable” objects in the UI of a text editor. This bad habit has been pushed by Microsoft (MS Office) which itself got rid of it and introduced ribbon as a visual styling tool. The close buttons on tabs are the same, although might be useful once we introduce 035 with bottom dock containing log and output windows that would be hardly reachable by Ctrl+F4 shortcut, and Middle-Click wouldn’t be clear enough…
I kind of like the Safari 4 beta tabs (concerning the close button at least). The active tab has a visible close button. All inactive tabs leave a space for it, but it doesn’t show up until you hover over the tab with the mouse. That leaves them off the interface until they’re actually needed.
I agree with martin about the toolbar. One of the things I really like about intype is that it doesn’t have one. Though, as long as there’s a way to turn it off it wouldn’t bother me if it did.
